The City encourages everyone to contribute to a sustainable urban living environment, and each year the Mayor and Saint Paul City Council recognizes community members and organizations for making a commitment to creating a more sustainable city through the Sustainable Saint Paul Awards.
As the Owatonna People's Press reported: "Kennedy came out swinging first, telling the crowd that Klobuchar is supported by an special interest group--the League of Conservation Voters, which he never named from the stage--that considers manure a toxic waste."
"I don't want to get into the manure here," I shot back, "but I don't think manure is a toxic waste." After the debate, I quipped: "If he wants to go down into the manure, I will go down with him."
The media couldn't help but take it from there. "Politicians spread manure at Farmfest," the headline in the Mankato Free Press reported after the debate. "Kennedy's manure spin just doesn't pass the smell test," Willmar's West Central Tribune chimed in. I couldn't have said it better myself.

A: Libertarians believe businesses have a right to operate. Humans have a right to life, liberty, and property. However, we also believe we each are entirely responsible for the results of exercising our rights. So a business or person who does harm upon the environment or others must also clean it up and pay restitution wherever possible. Additionally, we advocate competitive alternate sources of energy, food, housing, and fuel.
Responding to Barkley’s charge that he was beholden to big oil companies and other special interests, Coleman said Barkley is one to talk; he worked as a tobacco lobbyist. “We have real problems out there, real challenges,” Coleman said. “In the end it’s about who can work out there and who can solve it.”
