David Cobb on Free Trade
Green Party nominee for President
A: I completely oppose the entire regime of corporate-controlled trade, and the myriad of illegitimate agreements and institutions that have been created to further that regime. I am proud to have marched in Seattle against the WTO in 1999, and I have helped to organize Green Party participation in protests and rallies against FTAA, NAFTA, GATT, WTO, IMF, and the World Bank.
Q: Do you support the trade embargo against Cuba?
Q: Should trade agreements include provisions to protect workers' rights and to address environmental concerns?
Cobb says, "The current international trade institutions are illegitimate usurpations of national sovereignty."
